Derrick Ellison


Coach Derrick is a Loudoun County native who graduated from Longwood College with a degree in Business Administration.

He signed his first professional contract in 2001 as a non-drafted free agent with the Richmond Roosters of the Frontier League. During his 10 year career he pitched for the following MLB organizations: Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, and New York Mets. He was a part of three professional championships and was a two time All-Star during his playing career in which he reached AAA.

Coach Ellison was the pitching coach for Notre Dame Academy (Middleburg, VA), during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Both of those teams went on to win the VA Independent School League State Championship.
