Player Development Information

Blast Connect

Blast Motion Baseball is a technology used to analyze and improve a player's swing in baseball. It typically involves a sensor that attaches to the knob of a bat and records various metrics related to the swing. These metrics might include swing speed, bat path, impact position, and more.

The data collected is then analyzed to provide insights and recommendations for improving swing mechanics. Coaches and players use this information to refine technique, enhance performance, and reduce the risk of injury. The system often integrates with mobile apps or software, allowing users to track progress over time and make data-driven adjustments to their training.

There is an app for your phone where you can connect your sensor via BlueTooth and your metrics will appear in real time. In the app your can also record videos of your swing and the metrics will appear in those videos as well which make well for video analysis for the coaching staff. The online portal is great to view your calendar where coaches will be able to post workouts they want their players to be working on, see their video analysis their coaches prepared for them, and get a larger view of their metrics over a larger sample size.

Don't worry about understanding it all, its a lot. If you have questions reach out to your coach or email Noah Lacy

Recruiting Information

Field Level

FieldLevel can be access from your phone via the app or by a computer. The platform is set up like LinkedIn where players, high school/travel coaches, and college coaches can connect. College post their recruiting needs and can search for players they need each recruiting class. When players register they need to add "USA Prime NOVA" as their program along with their high school if they have one, that way we can send your account off to college coaches and make connections. Players should be posting video at least once a week (lifting, hitting off tee/front toss, bullpen, pitch design session, game highlight, etc.) and start as soon as possible so they can see your developmental progression.

Virtual Dugout

This app is great to see all the players that leave a school for the transfer portal and how many transfers a program brings into the program. It also compilies all the college camps in the country, program websites & questionnaires, provides a directory/map, recruiting calendar, metrics by class, email templates to send to college coaches and more.

College Baseball Hub

Great resources to see D1, D2, D3 & NAIA schools on a map.

College List

Start adding/subtracting schools you are interested in, whether it is a reach or realistic school for you. Cast a large net early with at least 80 school then work backwards by deleting as you walk campuses, research tuition, size, etc, meet coaches and get closer to your senior year.

College Board

Great resources to utilize when researching basic information regarding college academics and admission requirements.

Twitter (X)

This is a great platform for finding college camps, posting your highlits and other recruiting videos that you'll post to FieldLevel as well. Some college coaches are not on FieldLevel, creating a Twitter and using it as a recruiting platform is a great resource to get your name out there.

NCAA Clearing House

*Once you have this completed, please share with Coach Murphy* If you want to compete in NCAA sports, you need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. Plan to register before starting your freshman year of high school (or year nine of secondary school). The NCAA Clearinghouse, now known as the NCAA Eligibility Center, is an organization that determines the eligibility of athletes to compete in NCAA sports. It evaluates whether high school student-athletes meet the academic and amateurism standards required to participate in NCAA Division I and Division II sports. Here’s a brief overview of its main functions: - Academic Eligibility: The center reviews transcripts and standardized test scores to ensure that student-athletes meet the NCAA's academic requirements, such as the core course GPA and standardized test scores. - Amateurism Status: It verifies that student-athletes have maintained their amateur status and have not participated in activities that would make them ineligible. - Registration and Certification: Prospective student-athletes need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center, providing necessary documentation and paying fees to be certified as eligible for participation in NCAA sports. The Eligibility Center helps ensure that student-athletes are prepared both academically and athletically for college sports, maintaining fairness and integrity in the process.
